The Social Media Club of Houston will hold its inaugural meeting with “Twitterville” author Shel Israel. The book is full of case studies about how businesses and organizations are participating in global conversations through Twitter. The book includes a case study about Houston’s own The Coffee Groundz.

Shel is the also co-author with Robert Scoble of “Naked Conversations: How Blogs Are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers,” a book which defined the role of businesses in social media. He is a social media journalist and public speaker and has contributed to FastCompany.com, BusinessWeek.com, and the Dow Jones Company. He is also the author of “The Conversational Corporation,” a Dow Jones eBook.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Shel in person. Barnes and Noble will be onsite to sell the book and Shel will sign them. We also plan to have some entertainment, which will be announced in the next few weeks.

See you there!

Glad to see that Houston is joining Dallas and Austin as part of the Texas delegation for Social Media Club. How about planning a statewide event for all Texas groups in the fall?

I'd be interested in joining once this gets going. In the meantime I'll find out if we can offer a venue.
