FAQ For Photo Sharing Sessions
What's this about?
On the first Thursday of every month, London Social Media Club members will be out and about taking pictures and talking about social uses of photography as well as web-based tools for sharing, publishing, monetizing or mashing-up your still images. We'll see how it goes, but it could also involve some hanging around in bars.
Do I have to be a member of Social Media Club to come along?
No, nobody *has* to be a member of Social Media Club to do anything. However, if you want to show your committment to the club it would be great if you could sign up here. If you can make a financial contribution, that will make sure that more Social Media Club activities can happen, but at the least, please consider showing your support with a free "open" membership.
How much does it cost to come along?
Nothing, this is a free event - but if we do any hanging around in bars, you'll need to be prepared to buy your own drinks :P
Do I need to be a camera geek?
No, but if you are one you don't have to be shy, just please don't show up with more than 5 cameras around your neck
Do I have to bring a camera?
Nope, you don't have to, but we think you'll have more fun if you do. Also don't worry if you only have a little one, it's what you do with it that matters :)
Do I need a flickr account?
No, but again, you'll probably be able to take part more fully if you have an account with flickr or one of the other social photo-sharing sites out there. We shall be setting up a group in Flickr to share at least some of the pictures that get taken.
Can I tell my friends and bring other people along
YES! The first rule of Social Media Club is "Talk about Social Media Club" :P
